“That which God said to the rose, and caused it to laugh in full-blown beauty, He said to my heart, and made it a hundred times more beautiful.”
“I closed my mouth and spoke to you in a hundred silent ways.”
-Rumi

My Beloved Husband Salam, I would like you to know that “in your light I learned how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.”
-Rumi

My heart is cleansed by His sweet water; now my love blossoms without a thorn. I hear that love is the key to every heart. But if there is no lock, why talk about keys? -Rumi

My Beloved, I see you everywhere.
“Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They are in each other all along.” -Rumi

Mama and Baba, with supreme joy I remember you always, my dearest parents! I think of you with deep gratitude for teaching me how to love unconditionally. You taught me to stand firm in reverence for our Creator and respect for myself and all creation. Thank you for your wisdom, encouragement, generosity, and love. Thank you for your example. Thank you for teaching me to be mindful that my cellular memory carries the sacred wisdom of the ancient holy books of the Jew, the Zoroastrian, the Christian, and the Muslim.

My beloved Salam, thank you for being such a loving husband and great father. You loved your children and me with all your heart and soul. You helped us to extend that love to your grandchildren.
“Because my love for you is higher than words, I have decided to fall silent.”
-Unknown Middle Eastern Poet
